Vision Day Inspirements

Vision Day is August 27th at 9:30 am! Please come ready with the following:

1. Watch: https://www.lds.org/media-library/video/2013-02-1550-22-unity-and-love?lang=eng - As you watch the video, write the thoughts that come to you about what you can do to help create an inspiring peer envitonment in Vanguard this year. *Optional: Read Betsy was a Junior for further ideas to share with us about what to do and not do to create this environment. Bring your writings to class.

2. Read: The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper -  The Dark is rising in these latter days at an incredible pace. What did you learn from this book about your role in fighting this darkness? What can you do now in this war "against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places"? (Eph 6:12)
Choose One of the following inspirements for this book:

• Write your answers to the questions asked above and bring your writings to class
• Draw a graphic summary or a picture of your favorite part of the book and write a truth you learned from it.
• Write a book review on "Goodreads" or other site and share a truth you learned from the book.
• Do an experiment with darkness and light and share what you learned as well as what you can do to bring more light to this world.
• Make "Armor" and explain what the pieces of your armor represent in what you plan to do to fight the darkness of our day.

3. Read and highlight: Chapter 1 of Putting on The Armor of God, write down your favorite quote or principle from the reading.

4. Young Ladies: Read Chapter 1 of Beautiful Girlhood, Young Men: Read Maxim #4 of Mansfield's Guide
